After a small bidding war, Auker took the painting home for a decent $2,000. Being a bit of an art expert himself, the dealer figured he could make a good profit if he ever decided to sell the artwork. Meanwhile, Auker found little else that interested him throughout the house and ultimately decided to leave with just a smattering of other pieces.
With that, Auker placed the painting in his car and drove back to his antique store in Silver City. In case you don’t know, Silver City, New Mexico, is home to many fancy art galleries, like Auker’s. Soon enough, plenty of eyes were looking at the painting in its new home.
