As soon as David Van Auker, an antique dealer from nearby Silver City, arrived at the Alters’ home, he knew that many of the items were worth quite a bit of money. Looking around the house, Auker found himself standing in front of a particularly eye-catching painting.
The mid-20th-century artwork featuring an abstract interpretation of a nude woman had hung in Jerry and Rita’s master bedroom, something we’re sure their nephew did not appreciate finding out. While Auker did not think that the piece was particularly unique, he simply adored it. Meanwhile, he felt sure he had seen it somewhere else before. Regardless, Auker wanted it and so asked Roseman for a price.
