Ah, who can forget the runner-up of the first season of American Idol, Justin Guarini? For many years after his loss, Guarini did what everyone expected: he started a music career. However, after releasing studio albums in 2003 and 2005, the singer simply could not find the success he wanted. So, Guarini decided to try and find success on the stage, becoming a Broadway actor. There’s he’s starred in everything from Wicked to American Idiot.
Eventually, acting led Guarini to become a commercial star! Since 2015, he’s played the character Lil’ Sweet in Dr. Pepper commercials. According to reports, Guarini makes $250,000 a year for the ads. Meanwhile, the characters falsetto has, interestingly, renewed interest in the singer’s pop career. So it’s truly a win-win!
