Do you remember that Jessica Simpson once had a pop career? These days, Simpson is better known for her ditzy moments, role in the Dukes of Hazzard movie, and her multiple, successful retail brands. For instance, the Jessica Simpson Collection featuresĀ clothing, jewelry, handbags, and, most importantly, billions in sales.
However, itās not all been green for Simpson. While she has one of the most successful celebrity brands ever, she also has one of the most infamous failures. In 2004, Simpson launched the Dessert Beauty Line, a line of edible cosmetics. Thatās right, edible lipstick, foundation, even perfume! As you might imagine, it did not go well, and the brand folded a year later after numerous lawsuits.
