Pop sensation Lady Gaga is much more than just a successful recording artist. Believe it or not, Gaga has proven to be a sharp businesswoman who has a long and impressive history of investing in startup businesses. For instance, most recently, Gaga became a majority shareholder in Backplane, a web-based platform.
Backplane allows music and sports stars to connect with their fans across several social networks. Shortly after Gaga invested, the company raised more than $1 million from a group of investors led by Google Chairman Eric Schmidt. So, it’s safe to say that Gaga’s instincts were accurate!
