Colin Kaepernick – Kneeling

New York Times

There’s no doubt that Colin Kaepernick gained some new fans and endorsements due to his kneeling during the national anthem. However, according to most financial experts, he’s likely lost more than he’ll ever gain. Before the 2014 season, Kaepernick signed a record-breaking (for the time) deal at $126 million. However, he played just three seasons under the contract, making only a dash above $39 million before being let go.

While Kaepernick did sue the NFL, they settled for less than $10 million. So, that’s still $77 million that the player lost out on! And, as his popularity continues to wane over the years, few experts believe Kaepernick will ever make up that lost cash.
