In the late ’80s, Leonardo DiCaprio’s career was just getting started. He began appearing on hit television shows like Growing Pains, but still needed to get his name out there. So, DiCaprio starred in a nationwide commercial for Bubble Yum.
“This is a chunk of super-soft Bubble Yum bubble gum,” DiCaprio cheerfully says in the commercial. “Yum is the fun that never blows out. Big mouth bustin’ Bubble Yum. Keeps it poppin’!” The young star certainly did a good job convincing us of the pros of this bubble gum! Of course, since he starred in Titanic, DiCaprio has never needed to look back to the world of television ads.
