Ron Paolillo – Welcome Back, Kotter

Born in New Haven, Connecticut to Italian-Americans, actor Ron Paolillo was a former child star and teacher. Paolillo was west known for being one of the Sweatdogs from Welcome Back, Kotter, playing Arnold Horshack, a teen held back in high school. While Horshack was not the sharpest tool in the shed, audiences loved him nonetheless.
After Kotter, Paolillo left acting behind to direct plays and musicals, as well as write several children’s books. Sadly, the actor passed ways at the age of 63 due to a heart attack. Paolillo is survived by his partner of 41 years, Joseph Gramm, a fellow theater director and educator.
