Despite airing infrequently, Arrested Development remains one of the most expensive TV shows in history, with an estimated production cost of $3 million per episode. While some of that comes from the cost of the cast, part comes from the fact that they shoot on location in affluent Orange County, California, where Michael Bluth (portrayed by Jason Bateman) tries to take over his family’s affairs after his father gets arrested.
In case you haven’t watched the show, Michael is pretty much the only one of the Bluth family that’s even slightly level-headed. When the show premiered back in the early 2000s, and it did so to great acclaim. So, when FOX decided to cancel Arrested Development, the news devastated thousands of fans.
