Cities People Are Leaving

The city of Pine Bluff is widely known for being one of the lowest-income cities in Arkansas. Apparently, citizens have finally decided that they have had enough of it, and it’s now become one of the fastest cities – and we can see why! As wages and jobs continue to decrease in the city and surrounding areas, people need to leave in order to survive.

Back in 1990, the town’s population sat at 57,100, quite a high number for a city in Arkansas. However, in 2018, that population has decreased to nearly 42,000! That’s over 10,000 people who have decided to relocate elsewhere, hoping to find a better job and quality of life. Another contender in Arkansas is the nearby city of West Helena, which also lost an estimated 15% of its population in the past two decades.
