Ripped physique, long splits, and high kicks; that is what Belgian martial artist and actor Jean-Claude Van Damme was known for at the height of his career in the 1990s. He established himself as a Hollywood action star by starring in his biggest hit of the time, 1988’s “Bloodsport.” He said he had to beg the movie’s producer to cast him, as nobody believed in the newcomer!
Lovingly called “Muscles from Brussels,” Jean-Claude had his fair share of struggles being homeless, but that was before he starred in the action blockbusters “Kickboxer,” “Double Impact,” and “Universal Soldier.” In 2022, he ventured into voice acting with ”Minions: The Rise of Gru.”
