David Tepper – Carolina Pathers’ Owner, $13 Billion Net Worth

American businessman David Tepper made his billions as a hedge fund manager. However, like many of the wealthiest sports team owners, he makes most of his money from own the Carolina Panthers NFL team and the Charlotte FC soccer team.
To this day, Tepper’s 2018 acquisition of the Panthers from the original owner and founder, Jerry Richardson, remains one of the most surprising ever. In a last-minute deal, Tepper reportedly beat out a rival bidder with stronger ties to the Carolinas, businessman Ben Navarro, in a $2.2 billion bid. Believe it or not, it was the highest bid in NFL history from a single person. And it’s worked out well so far! Even though the team’s lease on Bank of America Stadium expired after the 2018 season, Tepper remains committed to keeping the team in the Carolinas.
