College football coach Kirby Smart developed his skills under one of the best in the game, Nick Saban, working as an assistant coach at Alabama from 2007 until 2015. Thanks to his help with their championship wins, Smart earned a head coach position at the University of Georgia in 2016.
Since then, Smart has led his Bulldogs to the National Championship Game twice, even facing off against his old team in his second season! While Alabama took home the win that time around, Smart’s team remains one of the strongest in the NCAA. So, it should be no surprise that the University of Georgia recently awarded him a 7-year, $49 million extension.
