Peter Sarsgaard is best known for his roles in movies such as Boys Don’t Cry and Dead Man Walking, but prior to his immense Hollywood success, he made his on-screen debut on Law & Order. He played a small role as a college student caught in a dangerous investigation. Impressed by his good looks and undeniable talent, film producers offered him his breakthrough role in Dead Man Walking.
For his stellar performance in the movie Shattered Glass, Sarsgaard was nominated in the 2004 Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor and won the National Society of Film Critics Award the same year. He has also appeared in off-Broadway productions of Uncle Vanya, Burn This, and Kingdom of Earth. In 2008, Sarsgaard made his Broadway debut in the musical The Seagull.
