Even if this was not the lost kingdom of Urartu, the team of researchers knew that they had discovered something revolutionary! Even through their underwater masks, Ceylan and his team could see the vivid excitement on each others’ faces. None of them had expected to find an entire building on their first dive!
Not only that, but the structure they had discovered seemed to be in surprisingly good condition. You see, since Lake Van is a saltwater lake, meaning the brine had preserved the manmade stones for centuries. While Ceylan could not believe his team’s luck, it would not all be good news on that first dive, unfortunately.
