Royal family members essentially have one job: support Queen Elizabeth II in her state and national duties. Each year, there are about 2,000 royal engagements across the UK and worldwide. That’s quite a lot for the Queen to handle on her own! So, the rest of the royal family helps with these engagements that include funerals, garden parties, national festivities, and so on.
Over the years, members of the royal family have even started their own individual charities. For instance, Prince Charles, next to the throne, started the Prince’s Trust with the primary goal of helping people in the UK that is a disadvantage.
