Income from the Duchy of Lancaster and the Duchy of Cornwall forms part of the Queen and Prince of Wales Privy Purse income, and they are taxed to the extent it is no use to meet official expenditure. While the Duchy of Cornwall is estimated to be worth over $1.3 billion in total assets, it provides the prince an annual income of $28 million.
And while the Duchy of Lancaster has a net worth of $682 million, it provides Queen Elizabeth the staggering annual income of over $26 million. Not a bad deal, right? However, Prince Charles roughly spends half of his income on official duties and travel. Also, Prince Charles meets the official expenditure of his children and their wives.
