Estelle Reiner – Singer/When Harry Met Sally
The 1989 romantic blockbuster When Harry Met Sally did not just feature iconic actress Meg Ryan, it also showed one of the most unforgettable cameos in Hollywood history: that of Estelle actress and singer Estelle Reiner, who also happened to be the film director’s mom! Director Rob Reiner’s mother was always present on-set so he decided to let her grace one of the scenes!
Reiner’s cameo happens right after the famous scene where Meg Ryan decides to fake an orgasm in the middle of a busy New York deli. After the spectacle, Ryan calmly continues her lunch. The camera then shifts to a dumbfounded Reiner, who announces to a server, “I’ll have what she’s having!” The hilarious moment did not just bring laughter in the set, but in movie theaters across the globe as well—not to mention pop culture history!
