These days, you’d never see country music legend, Dolly Parton, without her classic blush-and-eye-shadow makeup, big blonde hair, and long sleeves. It doesn’t matter whether she’s on tour, at the grand opening of a new part of her theme park, or earning yet another major award, Parton always sticks to her signature look.
However, when she got into business in the ’60s, the music industry didn’t want female singers to wear any makeup, as they believe “natural” looks sold more. What’s more, the iconic singer grew up too poor to afford makeup. In fact, she revealed that she would stain her lips with medicine at her young age, instead of using lipstick. As such, only the earliest pictures of Patron give us an idea of what she looks like without makeup!
