Unfortunately, not all of the wealthiest U.K. athletes have happy endings to their stories. Scottish rally driver Colin McRae was always meant to race. After all, he was the son of five-time British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae! Soon enough, at the age of just 19, Colin entered racing professionally in 1987. Just a few years later, he became the first Scottish person and the youngest to win the World Rally Championship, before going on to win lots of other titles.
Sadly, it all came to an end when McRae crashed his helicopter in 2007. A year after his passing, the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame posthumously inducted him, commemorating his incredible achievements.
