The House of Nahyan descents from the same tribe as Al Maktoum dynasty, and has been reigning Abu Dhabi since 1973. Their house consists of 200 male members and the number of females is yet unknown. Like other Royal families of the Middle East, the Abu Dhabi Royal Family primary source of income is from natural oil reserves.
What’s more, the Al Nahyans amassed a fortune worth $150 billion during the ‘70s. However, these days, they are enjoying their staggering fortune. For instance, the Sheik’s wife had her hairstylist flew everywhere he wanted. “Once when we were in Cyprus, where she has a charity, she gave me an envelope and told me to treat my little girl. There was $3000 (£1900) in there and that happened fairly often. Anything you wanted, you just asked,” the hairstylist said.
