The second most famous of all of Geico’s characters, behind the gecko, of course, the Geico Caveman quickly became a TV favorite after he aired in 2004. The commercials featured the titular caveman, portrayed by actor and comedian John Lehr, constantly feeling insulted by Geico because of the company’s slogan “so easy a caveman could do it!”
While the caveman makeup took three hours to apply, it worked as both the ads and Lehr’s career took off. Believe it or not, the ads became so popular that ABC started a show based on the concept, entitled The Caveman. However, for whatever reason, Lehr did not join. Today, he continues to work as an actor.
