Financial and Life Lessons You Can Learn From The Amish
Did you know there are many lessons you can learn from the Amish? From cooking to working and more learn how they live…
20. Shopping Second Hand
While buying food for a large family can become expensive, just imagine buying clothes for seven! It can add up pretty quickly! And it may seem like it’s completely mainstream to shop at thrift stores or secondhand garments these days, for the Amish community this type of shopping is not a recent trend. Instead, the Amish have been shopping second hand for many years now.
What’s more, with their strict guidelines of what they can wear, they don’t have much of a choice when it comes to clothes. As such, often, the best place to find clothes that fit the Amish standard is well, within the Amish community itself. So, from garage sales and secondhand shops to thrift stores, recycling clothes can even be fun! And it saves the Amish a ton of cash.
