While bulk buying might seem like the perfect recipe for a lot of unneeded waste, that is certainly not the case in the Amish community. You see, Amish bulky buyers seldom overstock on perishable groceries. Furthermore, any food on the cusp of going bad is fed to animals or donated to local farms for the same purpose. However, it isn’t just food they save.

The Amish do incredible things with the items they do not wish to throw away. For instance, if a sibling has clothes they cannot wear anymore, they pass it down to their younger siblings. Furthermore, they tear clothing into strips and create beautiful rugs out of the rags! It’s incredible how they turn trash into treasure and save a lot of money in the process.
