Bernie Kosar – Unpaid Taxes and Debt
Bernie Kosar rose to prominence after playing quarterback for the Cleveland Browns for eight years. Afterward, the football player went to briefly play with the Cowboys and the Dolphins before finally entering retirement in 1996.
After his retirement, Kosar decided to pursue a range of several different business ventures that never paid off in the long term. However, just a decade after he stopped playing football, he filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, with $19 million in debt and back taxes. As a result, some of his properties were foreclosed or seized by the government. Hey, we hope he can recover from this financial hurdle!
