Randy Brown – Poor Spending Habits

Albuquerque Journal

Despite making over $15 million as an NBA player, Randy Brown found himself falling deeper into the red in his post-NBA days. Brown, who played a spot role on the legendary championship-winning Chicago Bulls teams in 1996, 1997, and 1998, has fallen on hard times since he lost his job as a Sacramento Kings’ assistant.

As part of his asset liquidation, a federal bankruptcy judge ordered Brown to auction the championship rings he won with the Bulls. While the rings were appraised around $40,000 each, the opening price was set at $19,000. Daniel West, one of the firm’s co-owners said that it will take a big man to wear the jewel-encrusted rings. “If you can palm a basketball you have to have pretty big fingers,” West said.
