Jason Caffey – Child Support
NBA power forward Jason Caffey took home two championships rings during his professional career with the Chicago Bulls in the late 1990s. In 1999, Caffey locked a $35 million deal with the Golden State Warriors. However, his life off the court was rocky. You see, Caffey was father to 10 children by eight different women. Plus, he suffered from an anxiety disorder, which helped end his pro career.
As you can imagine, all those children meant a lot of child support. Soon enough, the burden of those expenses led him to file for bankruptcy in 2007, a few years after he left the NBA. Caffey claimed debt of nearly $2 million and assets of $1.15 million, but a judge tossed out the case. But one mother then sued him for over $200,000 in unpaid child support and legal fees. When he didn’t pay up, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
