Lenny Dykstra – Legal Fees and Debt
Former baseball player Lenny Dykstra is best remembered for the multiple seasons he spent with the Mets, from 1985 to 1989. Unlike many other athletes, Dykstra not only went broke, but he also ended up in jail. Believe it or not, Dykstra spent three years in the state prison for grand theft auto after finishing up his baseball career.
To make matters worse, Dykstra filed for bankruptcy back in 2009. According to a recent interview, he owned approximately $31 million in debt while he only had $50,000 worth of assets. As a result, Dykstra needed to sell thousands of possessions from his $18.5 million home that he purchased from professional hockey player, Wayne Gretzky.
