These Box Office Bombs Cost Actors Their Careers

Usually, companies like Universal and Disney make millions, but not always! These movies, including stars like Reese Witherspoon and Bruce Wills, were flops!

Justice League (2017), Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill – $102 Million Lost

Largest Box Office Bombs

Warner Bros. Pictures

Justice League, the fifth film in the D.C. Cinematic Universe, flopped hard, losing somewhere between $60 – $120 million, depending on the source. Warner Brothers tried their best, pairing a great character list, Batman, Aquaman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, with a great cast, Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Amy Adams, among others.

Still, the great lineups could not overcome production problems. First, Warner Bros. used Justice League to change the tone of the cinematic universe from heavy and dark to more lighthearted. Ultimately, however, audiences found the change too drastic and inconsistent. Furthermore, due to the death of his daughter, original director Zack Snyder needed to leave production in the middle of the shoot. Joss Whedon stepped up and finished, and while commendable, viewers said it led to an even more disjointed film.
