In case you didn’t know, before his unfortunate passing in 2014, Mickey Rooney remained one of the last surviving stars from Hollywood’s Silent Era. Believe it or not, Rooney started to appear in 1920s Vaudeville productions when he was just a toddler! Later on, he starred in hits like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, and The Black Stallion.
Rooney and his wife, Jan Rooney, enjoyed a four decades-long marriage from 1978 until his death in 2014. Believe it or not, before his death, the actor disinherited all of his eight children. You see, Rooney had a modest estate when he died, due to debt and overspending. He left what little remained of his small estate to his stepson, a decision made just weeks before his passing.
