They Used To Be Massive Stars, Now They Work 9-To-5 Jobs
Clearly, show business is quite an unstable field. So, it’s no wonder that some celebrities have left Tinseltown behind and found normal jobs!
Erik Estrada – Deputy Sheriff
Erik Estrada is best known for his lead roles as officer Frank “Ponch” Poncherello on the police comedy-drama CHiPs. From 1977 to 1983, Estrada and co-stars Robert Pine and Larry Wilcox took down criminals, all while riding cool motorcycles. Later on, Estrada gained recognition for his work in Spanish-language Telenovelas as well as for his appearances in reality TV and commercials.
Estrada’s experience on CHiPs actually led him to pursue a career very different from acting. First, he became a reserve officer for the Munchie Police Department in Indiana. Then, in 2009, he was already a full-time deputy sheriff in Virginia! As of 2016, he is once again a reserve police officer in Idaho. Watch out, you might spot him patrolling the streets on his motorcycle!
