11. Royal Castle

Believe it or not, White Tower is not the only failed restaurant chain to be “inspired” by White Castle. Royal Castle also took the look and food of White Castle, but tried to pair it with a more mom-and-pop feel. As such, the managers often spoke with customers and took their orders. Meanwhile, during breakfast, they served “squeezed to order” orange juice! All to make you feel right at home.
Still, almost everyone went to Royal Castle for their delicious mini burgers. In fact, Royal Castle felt so confident about their quality, their tagline was “Fit for a King!” In the end, however, it seems customers simply preferred the White Castle over the Royal one. Today, unlike other failed restaurant chains, one Royal Castle still remains in operation, in Miami (seen above).
