You might think that everyone wants to move to sunny California, but you’d be wrong! In fact, the state is on course to lose a seat in Congress due to population decline. And one of the fastest shrinking cities in the entire state is Corcoran.
Believe it or not, the town lost an incredible 12% of its population over the past four years! Maybe it’s because the city’s sales tax is a bit too much for the residents, at 8.25%. However, it could also be because residents no longer want to live near a prison! Corcoran houses one of the largest prisons in California, with a whopping 9,592 inmates!
