In 2018, the Census Bureau ranked Utah as the state with the third-highest population gain. However, while most of Utah has enjoyed steady growth, the Salt Lake City suburb of Taylorsville has certainly bucked that trend. However, it remains a bit of a mystery why people don’t want to live in Taylorsville anymore.
You see, the city has relatively stable employment rates, diversity, and appeal for families, according to the real-estate website Niche. Still, it could simply be that people find the neighboring zip codes more appealing than Taylorsville. Either way, the city will undoubtedly need to try something new soon if they don’t want to remain the fastest shrinking city in Utah.
