According to a recent poll by VH1, “Macarena” is the greatest one hit wonder of all time. Whether or not you agree, it’s hard not to acknowledge the fact that it’s one of the most famous songs of all time. While Los Del Río’s original version of the song didn’t fire up the charts, when the Bayside Boys remixed the song, it tore up the charts to number one. Now, the Macarena is still performed at hundreds of parties around the world every single year.
While Los Del Río has never experienced much other success in the United States or England, they continue to be massive stars in their home country of Spain. Their most recent album, Vámonos que nos vamos, debuted in 2012.
