“Dancing in the Moonlight” by King Harvest (1972)
Who doesn’t love King Harvest ’70s hit “Dancing in the Moonlight?” Sadly, it seems that people loved it too much, because it ultimately became King Harvest’s one and only hit song. After the song reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, the band could never seem to find success again. While they still perform today, the band has gone through many member changes over the year, and almost none of the original members remain.
While King Harvest never charted another hit, “Dancing in the Moonlight” did earn a second life after hitting it big in 1972. In 2000, Toploader, a British alt-rock band, covered the song, and it soared to number one in the United Kingdom!
