Of course, that’s probably precisely what singer Eddy Grant wanted when he penned “Electric Avenue.” He certainly got it – the song reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
While Grant never had another chart-topping hit, he did have songs reach numbers 26 and 53 – not too shabby! Still, today, “Electric Avenue” remains his biggest hit and one of the best one hit wonders ever!
