To our knowledge, this is the only time a virtual band became a one hit wonder. Yes, you read that right: a virtual band! Back in the late ’60s, Universal decided to bring together some of the most famous characters from the Archie TV series – Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, and Reggie – to create a virtual band. Together, as “The Archies,” the group released “Sugar, Sugar,” which became a massive hit.
The actual members of the band, seen in the photo, were only photographed together on a couple of occasions. Since then, they have all gone their separate ways, none of them achieving much in the music world.
