Despite being together for many years, the jazz-influenced rock band Looking Glass released only three singles during their time together: “Golden Rainbow,” “Jimmy Loves Mary-Anne,” and, of course, “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl).” Even though the group did not like “Brandy,” as they found it too poppy, the song eventually became a number one hit. So, you can imagine how angry fans were when Looking Glass refused to perform the earworm at concerts.
Following the release of “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl),” the band continued to decline until they called it quits. The one hit wonder recently experienced a revival in popularity after it appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.
