Interestingly, every time “Torn” gets covered, it only gets more and more popular. When the original version, by Ednaswap, came out in 1993, it did okay on the radio. However, just a few years later, pop singer Natalie Imbruglia turned the song into a one hit wonder when she covered it, taking it all the way to number one. Sadly for Imbruglia, she never found another mainstream hit to build a career out of.
Most recently, the song came back into the mainstream memory when the boy band One Direction performed the song during their time on The X Factor, earning them another popular hit!
