Karine Gombreau and her family had enjoyed quite a lot of pizza while visiting Little Italy. However, at the end of the meal, they still had plenty of pizza leftover. So, like anyone would, she asked for a to-go box and packed up the leftover pizza.
Most of us simply view leftovers as something that can become a midnight snack, never thinking about how life-changing some cold pizza can be to someone who lives on the street. While some leftover pizza doesn’t mean much to us, it can mean a full stomach and a night off their feet for a homeless person. With that in mind, Gombreau realized her pizza would be much better off in the hands of the starving man in front of her.
