Die-hard fans of Law & Order remember actor Dann Florek as Donald Cragen, a recovering alcoholic during the earlier seasons of the show. However, due to personal and professional issues, he was fired after the airing of the third season and was replaced with S. Epatha Merkerson.
Despite the things that happened in the past, Florek returned as Cragen in the series’s 1999 spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2013, he announced his retirement from the show, which frustrated many of his fans. However in 2015, he surprised audiences across the globe when he made a guest appearance again.
