George Dzundza had humble beginnings in Rosenheim Germany prior to his life as a Hollywood actor. Born in 1945 to a Polish mother and a Ukrainian father, Dzundza spent the early years of his life in post-war camps. Immigrating to the United States, he spent his high school and college life in New York. He had some minor roles in film and theater before getting his big break as NYPD Sergeant Max Greevey, one of the original cast members of Law & Order.
After quitting the show, he ventured into other acting roles in Batman: The Animated Series, Stargate SG-1 and The Ritz. Recently, he played the role of Harold, George O’Malley’s father on Grey’s Anatomy.
