Low Budget Movies That Made More Than Their Money Back

7. Halloween – $300,000

Low Budget Movies That Made Their Money Back

Compass International Pictures

The first film in what would ultimately become an eleven film franchise, Halloween was actually nothing more than a low budget horror movie back in 1978! Believe it or not, all of Jamie Lee Curtis’ wardrobe only cost the production $100! Still, nothing would stop John Carpetner’s horror classic from becoming a hit. Ultimately, Halloween made $70 million, while costing less than a half-a-million to film.

Today, not only is Halloween considered one of the greatest horror films ever made, but it’s also one of the most successful franchises. And, with two more films coming out in 2020 and 2021, expect the cash to continue to pour in!
