If you have seen the haunted house movie Paranormal Activity, its actually probably not that surprising to find out that it only cost $15,000 to film. After all, it looks like it was shot on a home video camera, because it was! Believe it or not, the crew also filmed everything in less than a week! As you might imagine, the hit horror film went on to launch the career of its director, Oren Peli.
After its release, Paranormal Activity grossed an impressive $193 million at the box office. And, like all great and successful horror films, it earned a handful of less remarkable sequels.
