Prince Charles: The Hire to The Throne

Known formally as The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles and his wife Camila, rely on a mix of public and private income. In fact, over ninety percent of Prince Charles’ revenue comes from a private estate. The Duchy of Cornwall was established back in 1337 to provide a steady income to the heir of the throne.
The Duchy of Cornwall owns and operates lands in both rural and urban areas. Furthermore, it is a collection of islands and rental cottages in Wales and Cornwall. In the most recent fiscal year, the royal couple made $28 million from the estate alone. Prince Charles also receives $2 million from the Queen’s Sovereign Grant and another $627,000 from UK government departments.
