Before Elon Musk became a billionaire and tech icon, he came from very humble beginnings in Pretoria, South Africa. Long before he earned his current net worth of $19.9 billion, Musk demonstrated that he had the talent and the ambition to become a success. When he was just 12-years-old, Musk taught himself to code and sold a game he wrote, Blastar, for $500.
However, things were not always easy for Musk. In a recent interview, the tech giant revealed that he lived on just hot dogs and oranges, for less than $1 a day when first arriving in America. Eventually, Musk went on to found multibillion-dollar companies such as PayPal, Tesla, and SpaceX, earning him billions. We’re sure he lives on more than $1 a day now!
