Long before Ralph Lauren founded his titular, multibillion-dollar fashion company, he served in the United States army from 1962 until 1964. Afterward, he began working for Brooks Brothers as a sales assistant before becoming a salesman for a tie company. While working there in the late ’60s, Lauren discovered his interest in fashion and decided to make his dreams come true!
Today, Lauren is best known as a billionaire businessman, philanthropist, and fashion designer. Even though Lauren stepped down as CEO of the company back in 2015, he remains executive chairman and chief creative officer. According to Forbes, Lauren’s net worth sits at $6.3 billion as of this writing.
