The Royal Family’s claim on this account dates back to the 1948 legislation rule that stipulates, “all revenue may be disbursed only by the king.” Most likely, this was done to reclaim control over the monarchy’s power and prestige. Moreover, they spend around $170 million to cover the funding for their staff, as well as their security.
These assets, which the King can spend as he pleases, also include shares in luxury hotel group Kempinski. The portfolio makes $3 billion in revenue a year. In recent years, the Royal family has tried to improve the public’s view of the CBP by publicizing social development projects and corporate responsibility. Luckily for them, they have improved their image.
