Meryl Streep and Don Gummer – 42 Years Together

Many remember that actress Meryl Streep met her first long-term partner, director John Cazale, while filming The Deer Hunter. Sadly, Cazale famously died of bone cancer, leaving a heartbroken Streep behind. A family friend, artist Don Gummer, kindly offered Streep the option to stay at his apartment while he was out of town. When he returned, the actress simply never left.
The two fell quickly and deeply in love, marrying shortly after in 1978. This time around, Streep decided to keep her relationship under wraps. Still, while the pair prefers to keep a lower profile, they do attend many red carpet events together.
